Tallahassee’s first country-western bar is now open in Midtown at 1122 Thomasville Road, in the former Fire Betty’s location.

Duke’s and Dottie’s, which now occupies the space, had its soft opening on Friday, March 10. The spot is set to be fully operational in April.

The bar, which has no cover and is for those 21-years-old and older, boasts of a mechanical bull, live music and line dancing.

Duke’s and Dotties features only country music playing over their speakers, an appeal to many fans of the newly opened spot.

Duke’s and Dottie’s is owned by Danger Hart Hospitality, which also boats of Finnegan’s Wake Irish Pub and Fire Betty’s Arcade Bar, and Tallahassee local Derek Hart is the owner of the company.

The dance floor will be home to themed nights, such as  "Country Karaoke Wednesdays” and “Two-Step Tuesdays" in addition to line dancing lessons on the weekends and live performance by local artists.

As of mid-March, Duke’s and Dottie’s is open just two days a week, Friday and Saturday, but will cater to country crowds six days a week by the end of April.
