If you are missing your favorite, locally made Greek food, you are in luck!

The 2022 Tallahassee Greek Food Festival is coming back at the end of this month, hosted by Holy Mother of God Greek Orthodox Church, 1645 Phillips Road.

The two-day-long food festival will be held on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5 from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. on both days.

Admission to the festival is free, and everyone is welcome.

Everyone’s favorite baklava, souvlaki, gyros, Greek fries, almond cookies, Finikia, chocolate KOK, and more are among some of the foods that will be available to purchase at the festival to dine in or take out.

Entire meals, pastry samples, and single dishes can be purchased.

Additionally, entertainment, including music and dancing, will take place all festival long.

“After you’ve eaten your weight in baklava and gyros, the best way to burn off those calories is to dance it off!” festival organizers say. “Greeks love dancing as much as they love food,” organizers explain. “Greece has a rich tradition of village feasts (called a paniyiri). These feasts bring together the young and old, connected by generations of families, brought together by delicious food and plenty of dancing.”

There will also be plenty of shopping on-site at the festival at the “Agora.”

“In ancient Greece, the Agora was the center of Greek social life. It was a place where traders and craftsmen would sell their goods and barter for the best price. In Greece today, the ancient agora still exists in an update form, but the bartering still definitely remains,” says event organizers. “Explore the Greek Food Festival’s agora which features a variety of vendors from traditional Greek jewelry and accessories, to fun home decor.”
